Michael Clarke
(Mike U4ria21.4.18.9.1) is a dancer who has made his introduction
to the New York City’s Underground House Dance Scene in late
1992. Not only is Mike regarded as one of the most unique,
expressive and technically capable “self-taught” dancer in the scene
which Mike credits his early beginnings to his teacher, mentor, and
friend Justice Correa, but he is also worldly recognized for his
attributing efforts to give back to his community. Mike has also
collaborated domestically and internationally with some of the
most celebrated dance veterans from the Hip-Hop and House genres.
For nearly 20 years Mike has remained to be a consistent
motivating force in the underground dance scene becoming a
guiding mentor to many new aspiring dancers. By creating and
hosting several events notably the "Weekly Dance Sessions"
which ran for 12 years being one of the longest running practices
in New York City. This later inspired many other dancers to create
their own dance practice. Mike is a core member in the
Long Island/New York City-based dance group Step Fenz, and
is also part of the "MOP TOP Elite/Fusion" family circle which
consist of the world-renowned Elite Force crew and Dance Fusion.
In 2009 a reunion event was created to celebrate
20 years of being a strong independent Dancer/Artist by
Emilio Austin jr.aka BUDDHA STRETCH called MOP TOP Anniversary,
Of which he was one of the many dancers inducted to be a core implement in this
annual celebration event. Mike's resume includes several stage performances
nationally and abroad (Canada, Europe, Asia) as well as an appearance in
Will Smith’s 1997 video/single “Men in Black”. In addition to stage works, he has
also been an invited guest speaker for many dance awareness events, teaching
in various schools, universities and music workshop seminars. Mike soon then
launched his company called "The Movement Foundation" and in addition his first
conceptual performance dance project called The Group TMF, a quartet structured
group with dancers from various style genre that he handpicked to be
the musical representation of the dance art form. And soon after
THE RHYTHM CONCLAVE, a trio based group, built on the same conceptual format.
